Captain Marc Cauley

Captain Marc Cauley was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Growing up he spent every summer on the water fishing for anything that would bite a hook and at age 12 he spent a summer commercial salmon fishing on a salmon troller with a family friend in Southeast Alaska.  At age 17, in 1987 after graduating high school, he went to work for another family friend fishing on a factory longliner in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska and he spent the next 10 years working his way through the ranks within the company.  In 1997 Marc obtained his Coast Guard Master’s License and in 1999 he began his career as a captain running factory longline vessels ranging from 124’ to 155’ in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska targeting cod, halibut, black cod, and rock fish.  He still maintains his career running large commercial fishing vessels in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska in the fall and winter months for the same company that he started out with 32 years ago.  Marc has extensive knowledge of the navigable waters throughout the state of Alaska as well as some amazing fishing stories that he has accumulated over his vast fishing career.  His love of the water and the awe that this amazing state has to offer is what has kept him doing what he loves and it will be abundantly clear as soon as you step aboard one of his charters.

Captain Chuck Carlson is a Valdez, AK resident with over 30 years of experience fishing in the Prince William Sound, Puget Sound, Bering Sea, and the Gulf of Alaska. After first starting commercial fishing in 1989, he soon worked his way up to captain of a 134-foot fishing vessel in the Bering Sea being responsible for the lives of the 20-plus crew. Captain Chuck has held a USCG Master’s License and maintained a perfect safety record since 1999.

Captain Chuck moved to Valdez, AK in 2013 and started running charters for Alaska Marine Guides that same summer. Captain Chuck will not only find the fish but also point out points of interest along the way to the fishing grounds. Captain Chuck loves taking out repeat clients year after year and meeting new ones alike. When not on the hunt for big “Halibut,” he can be found hiking with his wife, Laura, and black lab, Ruger.

OUR BOATS

F/V Christie Lynnie

F/V Christie Lynnie is a 37-foot north river that we had built and took delivery of in 2019. This vessel was built with chartering in mind and the North River design is famous for safety, stability and comfort in Alaskan waters.  Instead of buying one of their production models, we decided to have one custom built a little bigger and a little wider to ensure that our customers have more room to fish and added comfort in the cabin during our travel time to and from the fishing grounds.  The Christie Lynnie has twin 350 Suzuki motors that give her a 35-mph cruising speed and a max speed of 48-mph to ensure that out customers spend the most time possible fishing, not traveling.  The cabin offers a large heater for comfort, a marine toilet with privacy curtains, two forward facing shock absorbing captains chairs and a dinette table with seating for four.  She has a small cook stove and refrigerator and plenty of storage space for backpacks, camera bags, or anything additional that our customers bring aboard.  There are usb power ports should our customers need to charge their phones or cameras during the trip.  We designed this vessel so that there was extra room on the aft deck for fishing.  She is extra wide and a little longer in the aft deck with 3 large below deck fish tanks so our deck is flush, allowing for a totally unobstructed fishing area without the need to store fish in totes above deck.   We also had the Christie Lynnie built with 4’ sides for stability and safety of our guests.  You will never feel like you are exposed to water on this vessel while at the same time never feeling cramped or impeded when you are reeling in the big ones.  In addition to the amenities our cabin and aft deck offer, we also spared no expense with our state-of-the-art electronics, safety equipment, and fishing gear.  Our goal when we designed this vessel was for guest safety, comfort, and to ensure that our guests have every possible advantage when trying to catch their trophy fish.

F/V Hooked UP

The F/V Hooked UP is a 2021 Raider 34’ overall aluminum cabin sedan style fishing boat with a large back deck and rigged for serious fishermen.
